Matthew Bastian

Matthew Bastian is the Director of Market & Business Development and West Coast Operations for CUSIP Global Services (CGS).  In his role, Matt heads up the CGS project management team, cultivates relationships with strategic alliance partners, and spearheads the marketing and communications plans. As part of the CGS executive management team, he has led the implementation of new CUSIP asset class initiatives, including listed options and physical precious metals, as well as authoring numerous white papers and other thought leadership pieces around standards development and associated reference data. Based in Seattle, he represents the CUSIP business on the West Coast, adding to CGS’ “around the sun” capabilities and its operational resiliency.
 
Prior to joining what is now S&P Global Market Intelligence, Matt spent over 11 years with data vendor Bloomberg LP.  While there, he held a variety of leadership roles, the last of which was Head of Business Management and Exchange Relations for all real-time exchange feeds in North America.  In that capacity, Matt was responsible for many key implementations on the Bloomberg Professional platform, including Regulation SHO, the NASDAQ Opening and Closing Crosses, real-time data for Jamaica Stock Exchange (a first among vendors), and the TSX Market on Close.  An active participant and speaker in the industry, Matt is on the Curriculum Committee for the FISD’s Financial Information Associate (FIA) program and is a certified FIA Associate.
