Alok Aggarwal

Dr. Aggarwal founded Scry Analytics and is currently its CEO and chief Data Scientist; this company uses cognitive computing and data engineering to provide solutions and services in banking, finance and insurance areas for improving revenue, profit, timeliness, quality, customer experience, compliance and risk. In December 2000, he co-founded Evalueserve and was its chairman until January 2014; Evalueserve provides research and analytics services to clients in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific by using 3,100 professionals located in India, China, Romania, Chile and North Carolina. During 1984-2000, he worked at IBM’s T. J. Watson Research Center and was on sabbatical at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) during 1989-90 where he supervised two Ph.D. students. While at IBM Research, he and his team used cognitive computing and genetic algorithms to build and sell "Supply Chain Management Solutions" that substantially improved the profit margin for paper mills and steel mills. In 1998, he founded IBM’s India Research Lab and grew it to 70 researchers by 2000. He received his B. Tech. from IIT Delhi and Ph. D. from Johns Hopkins University; he has published 104 research articles and has been granted 8 patents.
