Andy Steele has been with Barclays for 11 years, and currently leads the Reference Data groups across Operations and Technology. His journey to Reference Data has been mostly via leading Operations teams across the Bank, with a few turns in to Lean process improvement and Robotic Automation along the way. Previously Andy has worked in two very diverse industries, with Scottish Power leading their Six Sigma Transformation, and with Unilever working on laundry product development, factory fault diagnostics and ice cream. Andy has fond memories of working in Artificial Intelligence research in the pre cloud days when Lisp programming language was the cutting edge of machine learning. Andy has two daughters and lives in sunny Central Scotland.
